Healthy Food

Mealtimes are Happy!

Mealtimes are happy, social occasions for the children. Staff and children enjoy lots of positive interactions.

We are committed to offering children homemade, healthy, nutritious and balanced meals and snacks. Dietary requirements are catered for. Fresh drinking water, milk, fruit and yoghurt are available throughout the day.

We use the ‘eat better, start better’ to plan our menus. We promote self-help skills by encouraging the children to serve themselves at meal times.

Teeth Cleaning

As part of our commitment to good oral health, we encourage the children to clean their teeth once during their session.

Each child has their own toothbrush and these are hygienically stored in Brush Buses in your child’s playroom. Younger children are supported by staff to clean their teeth, older children or when the child is ready, are encouraged to carry out this life skill independently.

Fluoride toothpaste is used and contains the recommended amount of fluoride for children.

All staff have been trained in Dental Hygiene.
